Do you want to learn more about local government procurement processes and opportunities?
As part of our Eora Journey Economic Development Plan, the City of Sydney is committed to ensuring support and capacity building for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses in our local area. Our engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander business owners has told us that navigating public sector procurement can be difficult.
This workshop is designed to assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander business owners and prospective entrepreneurs in understanding our procurement processes and making the most of potential opportunities. This will be a hands on workshop, looking at aspects of procurement such as:
- Procurement basics – what it is and the rules surrounding procurement for Local Government?
- Responses and approaches – what works, what doesn’t?
- Success stories – hearing about businesses that have experienced success in this area.
The workshop will also include morning tea and a chance to meet government partners and other business owners. The event will be facilitated by Kristal Kinsela as part of Indigenous Business Month.
Date: 27th October 2016
Time: 8.15am – 11am
Venue: National Centre of Indigenous Excellence, Redfern
