Sunshine Coast Council in partnership with South East Queensland Indigenous Chamber of Commerce (SEQICC) Sunshine Coast Chapter, invites business and community to attend a Black Coffee event celebrating Indigenous Business Month.
Sunshine Coast Council will be presenting on its Business Support Program and the Indigenous Tourism Development Program.
Simon Thornalley, owner of Saltwater Eco Tours, will be sharing his business story and recent trip to Vancouver, Canada where he attended the World Indigenous Business Forum 2019. The World Indigenous Business Forum is a platform that engages Indigenous people in global economic discussions.
“Indigenous entrepreneurs, both individually and collectively, are providing everyday acts of leadership, from working with clients, communities and consumers, to creating new market opportunities and income streams. This October we celebrate all forms of leadership across the diverse Indigenous business sector in Australia, specifically, we will be promoting Indigenous entrepreneurs that engage with community; Indigenous entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence in their industry; and Indigenous entrepreneurs who are also role models and ambassadors for their communities.” Dr Michelle Evans, Program Director, Murra Indigenous Business Masterclass Program.
